We recently told you about all the Christmas activities that were coming up in Bolton, in the run up to Christmas. In this blog we want you to know what will be happening in the Tameside area over Christmas and New Year!
As you may know the 21st of December is the shortest day and the longest night. The shortest day lasts for 7 hours 49 minutes and 41 seconds here in Britain. You can celebrate this special day at the Park Bridge Heritage Centre, The Stables, Park Bridge, Ashton for 3 hours. You will help the rangers call back the sun in the four mile early morning walk to Hartshead Pike starting at 7:15am. Join in to to celebrate the Winter Solstice.
Also if you are alone in the Tameside area on Christmas Day you can enjoy a Free Christmas lunch at the Ryecroft Hall, Audenshaw. Please share this with anyone who you feel know will be alone this Christmas. You can contact Pauline or Bob on 0161 370 7725.
In the New Year there will be a New Year’s day walk that you can get involved in. It will be a ten mile walk, starting at 10 am until 4pm, at Castle Clough car park, Buckton Vale Road, Carrbrook, Stalybridge SK15 3PJ. You can take in some of the beautiful scenes in Tameside.
